Rigid Heddle Loom Class

Weave A Scarf Of Your Choice

Weave a scarf of your choiceIn this two session class, you will use a rigid-heddle loom (10” wide) to weave a scarf  8” wide by 67” long, plus fringe.  We will review planning for your project:  determine ends per inch (epi); picks per inch (ppi), calculate warp and weft based on your yarn selection and weave pattern; and prepare your warp using the direct peg method.

By the end of the first session, you will have your warp secured on the loom and will start weaving.  A decorative stitch added at the beginning and end of your scarf will also be taught.  You will complete the weaving at home over the next two weeks. Bring your completed scarf back to the second session where you will finish the ends with a twisted fringe.

The yarn for this project is selected by you and purchased at the time of the class and is an additional cost to the class fee.

Note: This class is for individuals who have completed a beginning weaving class.
